Chupacabra Brew – Mythical Mexican Roast
Single Origin: Chiapas, Mexico
When we started out, we were roasting this only during full moons. So we named it after the Latin American mythical creature – Chupacabra. Why? For the fun of it! Does it sound kind of gimmicky – sure does! But this does not reflect the quality of this brew. The coffee was such a hit locally, that we had to move it into our regular roasting schedule.
The Chiapas Region
The Chiapas region is one of the three coffee regions in Mexico, located along the southern border, running along Guatamala. The region is known for its high elevation and volcanic soils, excellent for cultivating coffee plants.
A little-known fact is that Mexico is one of the world’s largest exporters of organic-certified coffee!
Tasting Notes: Savory, with notes of clove, nutmeg and dark chocolate. A round body, with a lingering finish.
